The duties of the Defence Attaché in
Ottawa are assigned to a senior officer (Colonel or equal)
of the the branch
of the Hellenic Air Force.
Defence Attaché Duties
The Defence Attaché is accredited
to the Canadian National Defence Headquarters as a representative
of the Hellenic Armed
Forces. He is assigned to the Greek Embassy of Ottawa and holds
the position of the Ambassador's advisor on subjects of his
authority.
Furthermore the Defence Attaché:
Is a link between the Canadian Armed
Forces and the Hellenic Armed Forces and responds to
their queries.
Assists and provides the necessary
information to Canadian Officers who intend to visit
for any reason Greece.
He supervises Greek Officers who
are in Canada for training.
Looks after any wounded or
handicap military personnel who is in Canada for medical
treatment
